The International Commercial Mediation Competition

The ICC International Commercial Mediation Competition is a globally-renowned concourse that lasts six-days and is held in various locations throughout Paris. The Competition is open to students of every discipline—though each team is required to have at least one law student to take the role of counsel. Every year, 66 university teams from across the globe are specially selected to participate. They will compete in almost 150 mock mediation sessions throughout the Competition week.

Professionals participating in the Roundtable will spend the remainder of the event week volunteering their time and expertise. Some will act as mediators, making use of their own experience in resolving cross-border disputes; while others take on the role of judges, assessing each team’s negotiating and problem-solving skills, as well as their ability to make good use of the mediator.

Though the event allows students the occasion to put theory into practice, the added bonus is their interaction with some of the world’s top mediators. This unique exchange is an opportunity for professionals to enlighten and engage a new generation of mediators and mediation users through guidance, feedback and support.
